Lowcountry Local First will be hosting a luncheon on Thursday, April 8th to introduce the Green Business Challenge.  The program will be held at One Cool Blow, which is at One Cool Blow Street between Meeting Street and Morrison Drive.  The lunch, which will be catered by Taco Boy, will be from 12:00 to 1:00 and the cost is $15 per person. Discussion will be lead by Brian Sheehan, Sustainability Director for the City of Charleston and Renee Patey of the Sustainability Institute.

The Green Business Challenge is a joint initiative from the City of Charleston, Lowcountry Local First, the Sustainability Institute and the Green Fair. The City of Charleston was one of 5 cities across the country selected by ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives) to establish a Green Business Challenge.  The goal of the program is to help participating businesses’ improve their bottom line through reduction of energy use and waste while becoming more environmentally aware.
